Book Review: Scat by Veronica Rodgers
Summary
When Mrs. Starch, the biology teacher, goes missing, her students Nick and Marta decide to investigate. The class delinquent Smoke seems to be the prime suspect. He's involved, but he's innocent. Soon Nick and Marta are involved in something bigger than they were expecting, and the life of a panther cub hangs in the balance. With the police and an oil scam involved, will the cub end up safe?
Memorable Moment
"Nick raised his eyes to the big panther and very gently said, "It's all right. I'm not gonna hurt your little guy."." (P. 334)
Recommendation
Anyone around 3rd grade and up should read this book. Anyone younger might have a hard time understanding some of the situations that come up. This book is humerous and can inspire people to help the environment. I would also recimmend it to anyone who has a loved one in the military because Nick's dad was injured in Iraq and needed to have his arm amptated, causing Nick's family to go through a hard time.
Book Rating
Four out of Five stars
