The novels also deal with environmental issues, such as drilliong for oil, pollution, and saving and treating animals right. His novels cleverly encourage the readers to stand up and make a difference, against all odds, a lesson that needs to be taught to young adults. As he deals with these dark issues, he coats them with light humor, making it entertaining for readers.
